I agree that self assessment is a ‘tricky’ skills that needs to be built up incrementally as the child develops
I love how you created this with the mix of question types and time challenges. Might steal this one!
My kind of teacher! Keep as many tools as possible in your toolbox!
I like your focus on ICT and differentiation Olivia
Nice activity Orla
You’re correct in identifying the link between matching the strengths of our tech savvie students and our teaching styles Emma
Thanks Onra. You raise interesting points about the challenge of winning and losing. Repeated exposure, social stories and emotion thermometers can all help here but for some of us losing is never easy!
Well done Mairead. Now off to the hairdresser!!!
Glad it was of help. Best of luck in your new role.
Civid has a lot to answer to Deidre! Poor Seesaw an unexpected side effect!!!
Thank you Lynn for your well thought out reply. We certainly need to incorporate ICT that enhances our teaching and student’s learning rather than just using the latest ICT tool or resource. Fiona
Thanks Noelle. It is very interesting to get these insights from a post primary perspective.
Your range of use and understanding of ICT in relation to your subject area and the group of students you teach is impressive Kim. Your priority is the match between student and learning and choosing whichever tool in your repertoire best suits this.
Well done Noelle in finding out how to adapt the Kahoot for your own context. I loved the spinner for nickname in your Kahoo…I Think the children would love that. I hadn’t noticed it before.
Hi Emma, time is certainly an issue in your context. In the past I would have used ICT to help relieve some pressure from me so when I had a number of children with dyslexia who needed practice of foundation skills I would with draw them both for teaching sessions but also they would be timetabled alongside other groups and they work on the Nessy app independently in the corner of the room thus increasing their time in school undertaking skills they needed.
