Very interesting that this is the approach recommended by the inspectorate. Thanks for sharing
You’ve a lovely plan here, hope it works well for you.
I agree with the use of seesaw, a winner for the teacher, student and parents.
Lovely synopsis of key points
Great plan Colette
Well done Emer
You’ve clearly put a lot of thought into how you can approach assessment in your new role. Good luck!
Thanks Emma. Is the book creator still free? I used to use it a lot in the past.
Very comprehensive range of diagnostic assessment of literacy here Fiona
Well summarised Jane
Yes it is so important to be testing based on what we have taught to inform our own teaching
Most importantly of all we need to prioritise relationships—the “key person” model—so assessment feels meaningful and grounded in trust.
I love this Ann Marie. An important reminder for us all
Yes it is important to know the why when we are purchasing new assessments – knowing what they add to our repetoire.
Super that you have just a collaborative approach in place
I think the key is to take small steps. Maybe use seesaw for play only at the beginning and use it after play to look at a few pictures with the class as a whole to talk about their play. If we try too much we fail so take baby steps! You’re already doing so much.
