At a loss for words after reading that! Amazing, thank you so much for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed the course and its format. Enjoy the summer break,

Laura, I am delighted that you could identify all the UDL elements already in place in your classroom as teachers do so much already and need to hear what they are doing right instead of adding to the endless to do list!
Definitely agree with this AnnMarie and I think UDL can be a great way of catering for that middle group that are in danger of slipping through our net at times! In a class of 32 it can be really challenging to cater for each individual but the hope is that with the UDL approach some small adjustments and changes can cater for all!
Great to hear your feedback on the final assignment! We’ve tried our best to design the course in a way that is accessible and engaging with visuals, breakout rooms and video content as well as allowing multiple means of representation.
What a great idea from your son! Kahoot quizzes are a brilliant way to revise and consolidate information and I am delighted that his teacher was so receptive!

I like the clear distinction you’ve made between the two! And I agree that the quote you’ve highlighted and the visual that went with it really stood out for me when I started studying the UDL approach.
Elaine
Jenny, I love that certain visuals stood out for you and really brought the concept of UDL to life! Further proof the visuals are great for us all irrespective of age or ability!
I like your comment about the child centred approach focusing on wellbeing and relationships; this is something I really wanted to get across!
Thanks for your engagement,
Elaine
I agree, Niamh! Teaching children ‘how’ to learn is something that will hopefully stand to them as they move on to the senior end and beyond. Making them aware of their own learning styles and strengths can only be a good thing. I think teachers are already doing a huge amount of these things without knowing it all falls under the umbrella of UDL!
Thanks for your comments!
Elaine
Emily, I loved your phrase about ‘flexibility in pathways of learning’, so appropriate for what we are talking about!
I think you have a really clear understanding of the two approaches!
Elaine
Visuals stay and words fly away is just so brilliant and I think of it every day in my autism class, although it’s relevant for all children really!
I agree that while differentiation still has a place in our classrooms, it’s inefficient and very challenging for teachers to reach each individual child.
It sounds like you have a really clear understanding of each approach! Elaine
Hi Joan,
I think teachers are amazing they way they can adapt and react to individual children as well as a whole class group! Using a combination it can create an opportunity for learning for all as you put so well!
