Hi Sheila, totally agree with the idea of changing the environment instead of the learner in the spirit of the UDL approach! I think teachers are probably doing lots of these things already; visuals, videos, songs etc but to be able to name it is great for planning and inspections etc! It sounds like you have a really clear understanding of both differentiation and UDL!

Maria I think we all know that feeling of being in the middle of a busy classroom and reacting to different situations on the fly! While the reactive approach is time-consuming, sometimes it’s all we can do! Such a lovely, personal story about your own son and his journey. Lucky boy that you invested so much time into supporting him and the natural knock on effect it had on all your pupils!
Hope you found the module useful – Elaine
Hi Sophie,
I totally agree and I think it’s lovely to be able to identify areas that are already working well in your school and be able to put a name on it, UDL approach!

Morning, ladies!
Love your commentary around UDL; I think you’ve really gotten a good sense of the ‘buffet’ style approach and how it can build confidence in self esteem in the most reluctant learners. It’s just small adjustments to create options for all.
Thanks for your engagement!
