Hi Kitty, Thank you for the above input, I love the idea of using Seesaw to teach and reinforce concepts covered within the Zones of Regulation Programme. I think Seesaw is a great resource for communicating and modeling work to parents particularly for children with ASD and emotional regulation needs. I will also try this in September on return to school.

We use the YARC diagnostic assessment in my school. Its main purpose is to assess the child’s level of comprehension but it also provides information on reading age and reading rate or fluency. If a child has problems in these areas, I find it a great test to do at start of year to gauge where exactly the children are at and where I need to go in my teaching to support them. I reassess in February and June (if needs be ) to measure progress. Yarc is one the assessments now used in granting Irish exemptions so it is good one for schools to invest in and have at their disposal.

I have also used two stars and a wish within my classroom. It is lovely for the children to receive feedback on their work from their peers. Their compliments can mean so much to the receiver and be a great motivation going forward.

It also empowers those who are giving the feedback. They are more active and less passive when they are listening to/ looking at anothers work and asked to share feedback on it. In my experience the more specific the feedback the more meaningful it is.
