I also miss the use of interactive whiteboard but am determined this year to use the notebooks that were bought for the school. I also move a lot to different spaces which makes the use of ICT challenging but the benefits of using it outweigh any obstacles.

This coming school year, I plan to keep portfolios of childrens work on-line rather than in a physical folder.  I think it will be quite simple to take photos of work/ assessments & upload. I also like the idea of using post-its for observations as too often it goes out of my mind when I take out my next pupil/ grouping.

I use the Twinkl assessments for both AFL and AOL regularly. It is a very useful tool as it has some baseline assessments at start of year for classes and end of year, The junior infant one, for example, is quite comprehensive as test oral language, memory as well as maths and literacy. There are also skills assessment for gross motor and fine motor skills as well as oral language assessments and checklists.  There are sample back to school parents letter and letters for  “getting to know your child” There are lots of observation checklists and self- assessment checklist.
