This year I used the spelling assessment from this Morph Mastery book with a 6th class struggling spellers group.

It involves giving the children a spelling test and then analysing the results to pinpoint their areas of difficulties, a bit like Words their way. This programme is better though because you use the child’s results profile to write a detailed 6 week plan and it also provides you with all the resources you will need, word lists, games etc. That six week plan is further broken down into lesson plan frameworks with plans for activities on Day 1,2 and 3.I used it in conjunction with foam letters and an alphabet arc.The children loved it and I would highly recommend it.I think Daphne and Aine have highlighted one of the challenges of using ICT and SEN.Our students are constantly on screens at home, some have never held a book, I recently saw a Junior Infant trying to swipe a page instead of turn it!I think as Aine said, we need to think more carefully of what the benefit of the activity is before we use it.I admit I use ICT regularly to source materials and presentations and printable activities, I’m not great at getting the students using the ICT themselves.I really like Fiona’s idea of using Seesaw to make a digital portfolio, it seems doable and maybe some of my seniors would benefit from designing their own kahoots,I know this year I was trying my best with a 6th class child with dyslexia to get her used to assistive technology apps and extensions. She had been granted an ipad but our feeder secondary school wanted her to use a laptop, so I swopped the ipad for one of our laptops.I had her on the TTRS typing programme but it was diffcult to motivate her as she was so used to using the ipad and smart phone.I will be better prepared this year.

Hope this works. It wouldn’t give me a url to copy, when I went to share the only option I was shown was email?I emailed it onto course2023 email.
This quiz is a quick revision for my 6th class maths group after the summer.
Thanks for mentioning the Dibels assessment, had never heard of it.Have just looked it up and I can see a lot of it is free.Thank you.
I see from the course outline, that this was supposed to be about google slides not numeracy websites.I think Google Slides will be very useful for senior students, especially those with dyslexia, for presenting topics and project work. The extensions such as Select and Speak and Open dyslexic and text to speech would help them present information more easily, especially for those who struggle with writing and spelling and those who have been granted assistive technology.
Looks very good Anna, thank you.You sound like your school is very advanced with your digital planning , am off to google Universal Design for Learning.
